Can left shift be split after the fact?

Just want to confirm – the LEFT shift can still be split (ISO-style) even if we order an ANSI layout? I know it would need an extra flipper (and the necessary keycaps), but given that the HHKB layout is incompatible with standard right shift I thought I’d ask.

I have ordered two keyboards with ANSI layouts. I’m interested in ordering everything I’ll need to split the left shift on both as well as described above. I’ve already got a repair kit in my order so I should have extra flippers etc. Are the keycaps I’d need to split the left shift available for order separately? If so, which should I order?
