Glad you are joining the new project! Yes, should be later this year – that’s the best estimate that is available!
If you would prefer to use something over the next several months, may I recommend the ultra compact variations which are all in stock and should ship later this month.
Nope that is not entirely correct. Not sure where specifically what you are saying was implied about your second starred point. The beam spring Round 1 orders that are in stock will go out before the Model F Round 1 orders (Ultra Compact case). There are maybe 25-50 Round 1 beam spring keyboards remaining, so it is not much of a wait. The Round 2 beam spring project will not delay the Round 2 (classic style case) Model F project, or vice versa. The Round 2 beam spring boards and M Style case Model F boards will all go out at the same time when they arrive later this year.
Ah ok. I thought I’d read somewhere you had said (which seemed totally fair) that you were going to get existing orders out and complete before moving on to assembling and shipping the new boards. It seems I got something mixed up.
Just to be clear– I’m not upset or anything of the sort– I’m very appreciative and will gladly wait. If anything I’m just saying this to offer some feedback to spare you from dealing with others that are impatient. I know you’ve probably had your fair share of difficult people to do with. 🙂 I’m infinitely grateful that you’re even doing this, so short of stealing my money it’d be hard to make me upset. 🙂
I updated my summary above to prevent someone reading it and getting it confused with the your accurate information.
Can’t wait to see the aluminum F104 classic cases! It’s like the “missing link” keyboard that should have been released between the AT F-84 and the M-101!

Hello! So let me repeat back what I think I’ve read so far from you in this post and on your update site (which covers this somewhat, it is kind of muddled a bit). Full disclosure, I ordered the F104 last week and I seemed to have been confused as well about availability. So:
* F104 is “launched” but that only means you are taking orders at this time.
* //* corrected-from-below to prevent confusion from someone reading this *// The beam spring Round 1 orders that are in stock will go out before the Model F Round 1 orders (Ultra Compact case).
* F104 parts have been ordered and are being manufactured currently.
* F104 parts will begin to be delivered at some point in the nearish-future.
* F104s then will start being assembled and delivered. This is should be sometime this year.
The last one is kind of disappointing. I’m in this for the long haul, but the way your updates page is written, it kind of makes it sound like (I misunderstood I suppose) that the F104s were ready to be shipped NOW. I think it’s how you were talking about “pre-ordering” the parts this time so the boards could be immediately available. I suppose that’s true for the FSSKs or something, but just not the F104? Them being wrapped together in the same announcement made this not very clear.
So, is this correct? Regardless this is an amazing opportunity and I’ll gladly wait. Just writing this to express maybe you’d want to re-visit how you’re describing availability.
