I am looking to purchase F122 and would it be possible to get a different cable and PS/2 interface? How much would I have to overpay for a new controller?

This controller does not appear to be compatible with solenoid and PS/2 daughterboard simultaneously

Correct, PS2 does not have enough power to support a solenoid so you can never have a solenoid with PS/2.

I suggest ordering the F122 as it is. The F122 is expected to have the new Leyden Jar controller which has plans for PS/2 support through an add on board. https://github.com/mymakercorner/Leyden_Jar
