My installed solenoid will not turn off or on with the firmware. FLASH-FSSK-ANSI dated 2023-11-07 found in ‘Flash scripts with original names’. within the QMK layout files.
My Keyboard model is a FSSK v1 I believe. Initially the solenoid did not light up or respond in anyway until I updated the firmware. (Bug stated in the manual).
In my attempts to get the solenoid to work, I flashed FSSK r2 firmware versions (FLASH-FSSK-R2-ANSI dated 2023-11-07) and other r2 versions resulting in the solenoid ON, working with a few select keys! But the keys are not mapped correctly.
So after going back to the FLASH-FSSK-ANSI dated 2023-11-07 the solenoid does not turn on with the keystroke. FN+Space+T. Yet the solenoid driver light is on.
Not sure what to do next? Can you recommend a firmware version for the FSSK v1? Am I using the correct key combination?
Please redownload the latest firmware zip file as of now, as located in the manual. You are using an old firmware. You should be using the file “fssk r1 shrunk ansi.bat” – please follow the manual to ensure the firmware file flashes successfully. Do not use other files. Be sure to use the pandrew utility to clear the EEPROM before starting.
Did you accidentally plug in the wires backwards before reversing it?
Did you overtighten the screw for the solenoid and break the blue tape seal?
Please send me photos and video by email. Kindly press a lettered key and see if the solenoid PCB lights up. You can also test the solenoid directly by using a 9V battery and some wires.
Thanks, but no success at this point. As instructed I redownloaded the firmware zip file QMK-layout-files. Using pandrew I erased the EEPROM. And then flashed ‘fssk r1 shrunk ansi’ firmware dated 02-12-2024. At the end of the flash the solenoid did make a sound.
I unplugged and plugged back in the keyboard, yet the FN+Space+T key did not turn on the solenoid.
Was this the correct firmware version? Thanks for your help!!
