Hi! Trying to convert my F77 to Finnish/Swedish layout, and it requires 3 keys between “L” and Enter keys, so I have to change the Enter key to a vertical instead of horizontal one,
but to do that I also need to change the dummy position on the left side of the old Enter key into a working key, and the old 1.5-wide backslash/vertical bar key to a dummy one.
I haven’t been able to find instructions for how to swap key positions.
As noted on the product page, right Ctrl is factory programmed for Fn so it will not work as a Ctrl key by default. For Left Ctrl it is a matter of following the manual for troubleshooting. The flipper may be stuck, the spring may need re-seating, etc.
Actually rejoiced too soon. Suddenly the control key stopped working again. The odd thing is that the key works as a key – X windows sees the key press and shows it correctly as Control_L (using xev), but it doesn’t modify the other keys – Ctrl-C shows as regular c.
Hmm, seems the Ctrl just works unreliably. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Will do more troubleshooting. Would prefer not to have to open up the keyboard a third time…
Opening up the case is not necessary. If the key does not work reliably, the issue is most likely the spring. Please follow the manual and QC secrets video shown in the manual to adjust and replace the spring.
Yes this can definitely be done.
To switch this you would need to open up the keyboard inner assembly as shown in one of the videos in the manual. Then remove the stabilizer insert and add one flipper+spring to the left shift area. Then remove the insert from the Enter key. Then move the flipper+spring from the key above the ANSI enter key to the barrel from which you just removed the insert.
Be careful to follow the initial setup instructions in the manual to install the vertical (black) stabilizer insert in the correct orientation for the ISO Enter key.
Thanks! Managed to disassemble and reassemble everything, only to realize I need to do the same to convert the left shift to a shorter key and put in a flipper and spring in the right hand hole (to give space for the “, |” key between shift and Z…
Will leave that to tomorrow…
OK, done that, and everything is OK, except for a serious problem – neither “Ctrl” (left and right) do anything. Every other key works just fine.

Thanks, third attempt at reseating helped!
